About the therapist
John Lawrie.
Muscle therapist with 20 years of professional practice in the Netherlands. More than 15,000 sessions. Now in Petrich.
I moved to Petrich — a beautiful region near the Greek border — with my wife Ani Kalacheva, who is originally from Klisura. I've brought the full practice I built in the Netherlands with me.
I work with athletes, office workers, and people dealing with chronic muscle tension or recovering from injury. Every session is structural, not relaxation.
Registration & practice
Licensed muscle therapist, registered with NBSM — the Dutch Association of Sports Care Specialists and Massage Therapists. More than 15,000 completed sessions and 20 years of practice before moving the work to Petrich.
The approach
Structural solutions,
not temporary relief.
Dutch muscle therapy doesn't chase symptoms. If your shoulder hurts, the problem may start in the thoracic spine. If your lower back stiffens every morning, the hip joints are often the cause. I find the source.
Every session follows a systematic protocol. I combine deep tissue work with joint mobilization and thermal contrast — infrared heat to prepare the tissue, targeted ice to close. A structured sequence, not a menu you pick from.
The goal is always the same: restore function. Get you moving the way you should. No frills. No pampering. Just focused work that delivers results.
